Schafer Environmental

Asbestos Testing & Inspection in Denver & Lakewood

Schafer provides safe, compliant detection, cleanup & consulting.

Mercury

Mercury-containing polyurethane floors were widely installed in school gymnasiums across the US, until being discontinued in the mid-1980s amid concerns over their emissions of elemental mercury vapor. Many of these floors remain in place and emit notable amounts of elemental mercury vapor today. Schafer successfully performs oversight of mercury remediation activities, including documentation of compliance and mercury vapor monitoring of the mercury affected areas and surrounding areas during removal. At the conclusion of mercury remediation activities, Schafer provides final visual inspection and post-removal mercury vapor monitoring to confirm effective remediation.
